In addition to prevention education, Juliette’s House performs medical and forensic assessments of children ages 0-18 and developmentally delayed adults referred to us for suspected sexual abuse, physical abuse, serious neglect, and exposure to drug endangerment, domestic violence or traumatic events.

Working closely with Child Protective Services, law enforcement, and other social service agencies, we intervene to help stop the maltreatment and create a path toward healing.  There are many steps in this process and it can take time. For the child and non-offending family members it may seem overwhelming. So, our task in each assessment is to provide a compassionate and as-positive-as-possible an experience to determine what has happened to the child and how we can work to help them heal, stay safe, and ultimately thrive.
