Advocacy

ad·vo·ca·cy
[ˈadvəkəsē]

By definition, Advocacy is public support for or recommendation of a particular cause or policy.

Throughout our history Juliette’s House has been active with our state Legislature, advocating for policies that embrace best-practices in serving children and their caregivers impacted by abuse and neglect. Frequently this advocacy ranges into support for various state agencies, supports for foster families (now known as Resource Families) and children in that system, expanding professional training, more equitable insurance reimbursements for centers like Juliette’s House, and virtually any other issue bearing upon the wellbeing of our state’s children. Much of our work is done through our state network of centers, Oregon Child Abuse Solutions, composed of 24 centers serving Oregon. We also work federally through our affiliation with National Children’s Alliance to ensure that national policies to protect children and help them to thrive also embrace best-practices and are funded appropriately and sustainably.
