Sunisa Chanyaputhipong
Physician, Virginia Garcia Medical Center

Sunisa Chanyaputhipong found her home in McMinnville, OR almost 17 years ago after spending time all over the world. She is Taiwanese by heritage, but grew up in Thailand, and attended the International School Bangkok through her childhood. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and traveled across the Atlantic to achieve her medical school degree at University College Dublin in Ireland. She came back to the USA and completed her family medicine residency at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle, WA. She took her first job at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in McMinnville as part of her visa obligation to work in a health professional shortage area. She grew to embrace the mission and found deeper meaning in providing care to migrant farm workers and low-income families who have barriers to access of healthcare. She believes strongly in therapeutic relationships with her patients and strives to keep them educated on their health conditions and encourages them to optimize their health. She is a proponent of preventive medicine, family planning and vaccinations.

She became a US citizen in 2015. She is married and has two school-aged children and a Siberian husky. She loves to travel, take photos, play the piano and practice karate. She speaks Thai, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Dr. Chanyaputhipong joined the Juliette’s House board because she believes in the work, vision and mission of Juliette’s House. She is hopeful that through abuse/neglect prevention, our children have a better chance of well-being.
